Kara Ada Guide from Bodrum Cruise Port

Kara Ada rises from the Aegean just south of Bodrum harbour, pine-clad and famous for a shallow thermal cove where warm, sulphurous water mixes with the sea. Almost every cruise passenger reaches it by gulet rather than independent ferry.
The boat ride from Bodrum Marina takes 20–30 minutes. Gulets anchor in the cove and passengers swim from the stern or climb down ladders. The thermal water feels noticeably warm and has a distinct mineral smell — normal for sulphur springs.
Time on site is usually 45–60 minutes within a half-day gulet itinerary. There are no facilities on the island — everything comes from the boat.
Do not plan Kara Ada as a standalone trip unless you charter a private boat with confirmed return timing. Shared gulet tours that list Kara Ada on the route are the practical choice.
